To provide students with introductory construction skills and knowledge utilised in the design of buildings of a domestic scale, and to understand the role and conventions of architectural drawings and documentation in communicating design.
Students will be introduced to the relationship of building structure to site, structural supporting strategies, building enclosure, materials, and the integration of building services. Students will apply structural and construction strategies to the design of domestic-scale buildings and communicate these strategies through architectural drawing and documentation.
