Course aim

To develop students' foundational understanding of the nature, meaning, intention, and integrated characteristics of the design of buildings and environments for dwelling.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of the relationship between the human being, the design of small-scale buildings, and the notion of dwelling. Students will develop analytical and design skills which respond to contemporary social, environmental, cultural, and ideological contexts, and the representational skills to communicate design intentions and solutions.
