Course aim

This course will introduce students to the evolving discipline of human movement, exercise and sport science including its academic subdisciplines and how these relate to a range of professional roles, responsibilities and requirements.

Course content

Introduction to the human movement, exercise and sport science academic subdisciplines including exercise physiology, motor behaviour, sport and exercise psychology, and biomechanics. Evaluation of personal values and beliefs, and exploration of the current state of health, fitness, exercise and sport related industries, professions and professional qualification schemes (Australia and internationally) to guide the design of a comprehensive professional development plan
