Course aim

To gain knowledge and skills to explain fundamentals of vibration modelling and analysis, to analyse different techniques and apply these to continuous and discrete systems and to engineering design.

Course content

Vibration analysis of single degree-of-freedom systems via Newton and energy method: Matrix vibration analysis of multi degree-of-freedom systems via Lagrange’s Equations and Newton method: Matrix vibration analyses of multi degree-of-freedom lumped-parameter systems; Vibration analysis of continuous systems, Introduction to acoustics.
