To build capacities and familiarise students with the principles of teaching and learning Health and Physical Education (HPE) in early childhood, community and primary/middle school settings.
Students will build theoretical understandings of the role and nature of HPE within the curriculum, growth and motor development, fundamental movement skills and models of pedagogy. Students will develop skills and dispositions in a broad range of movement forms and teaching methodologies appropriate for HPE, lesson planning, analysis of teaching episodes and critical reflection.
