To build on students as pre-service teachers’ understandings of, and their capabilities in teaching Design and Technology in Secondary school settings.
Students as pre-service teachers will build on their knowledge and understanding of Design and Technology education through the preparation and presentation of teaching episodes. Emphasis will be placed on the genres of communication, including graphical, technical, oral, written, three dimensional modelling and virtual modelling. Practical activities based on the development of creativity and designerly thinking will be undertaken as well as an exploration of both the Australian and South Australian Curriculum (ACARA and SACE).
