To enable students to learn and critically reflect upon a body of research pertaining to human development, learning and thinking, and to begin to apply theories to practice in educational settings for children and young people from 0-18 year.

Students will also be introduced to include theories of social and moral development, and intelligence, and content about early brain development and executive functioning. Students will begin to consider applications of these theories to educational settings, and develop the capacity to critique them for strengths and limitations regarding their usefulness in those settings.
