Course aim

To develop students’ preparation for practice through a sound knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, diagnostics and interpretive analysis towards evidence based midwifery.

Course content

Pharmacology; pharmacodynamics; pharmacokinetics; drug classifications; quality use of medicines; pharmacology legislation; Therapeutic Goods Act; diagnostic processes; diagnostic tools; interpretive skills; analytical skills; complementary therapies; environmental hazards; ethics; communication processes.
