Course aim

To introduce students as pre-service educators to current mathematics curricula and to develop their understanding of how learners learn mathematics.

Course content

Students will investigate concept and language development with a particular focus on geometry and measurement; thinking mathematically, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum, teaching practices based on play and social constructivist perspectives of learning mathematics and planning for learning.
