Course aim

To introduce pre-service educators to current mathematics curricula and to develop their understanding of how learners learn mathematics.

Course content

Concept and language development with a particular focus on geometry and measurement; thinking mathematically; the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum; teaching practices based on play and social constructivist perspectives of learning mathematics; planning for learning.
