To develop preservice teachers' understanding of theories of learning and teaching mathematics and their own thinking and mathematical skills.
Preservice teachers will further develop their understanding of the big ideas in number, space, measurement, change and data, patterns and relationships, thinking, reasoning and communicating mathematically. Preservice teachers will examine current research in mathematics education and how it informs their practice. Preservice teachers will apply the Australian Curriculum Mathematics proficiency strands in conjunction with the content strands and descriptors in planning and teaching of mathematics. Preservice teachers will develop their professional practice of navigating a data driven world via the interpretation and use of learning data for planning learning experiences that cater for individual needs.
