The course aims to equip students with fundamental statistical concepts and techniques, and
develop students’ abilities to solve real-life problems using statistical approaches.
Statistical problem solving, scientific research methods, planning and designing a statistical study, experimental design, identification of key variables, sampling, measurement, variation, the Normal distribution, sampling distribution, Central Limit Theorem, confidence intervals, one and two sample hypothesis testing, ANOVA, non-parametric statistical testing, regression modelling and forecasting, the use of MINITAB and EXCEL computing software.
