Course aim

To introduce the fundamental design principles of mechatronic systems and to enable the students to select key components and construct such a system with industrial applications.

Course content

Pneumatic systems: Components of pneumatic systems, symbols and drawings of pneumatic systems, Design and simulation. PLC programming: Components of PLC, Input/Output devices of PLC, PLC programming and simulation using EasyPort/EasyVeep, Mechatronic system integration. Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA): simulation and implementation using industry tools; industrial applications of mechatronic systems and examples.
