To introduce the fundamental design principles of mechatronic systems and to enable the students to select key components and construct such a system with industrial applications.
Review of Mechatronic system components: Actuators, Sensors including Encoders, Drivers and Motors, Introduction to Machine Vision Systems and basic Digital Image Processing Techniques, Fundamentals of Industrial Robotics: Robot Geometry, Robot Components, Forward Kinematics and Robot Programming, Systems Integration, Interface of Mechatronic Systems, Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Industrial Applications of Mechatronic Systems and Examples.
