Course aim

To develop ability for conducting environmental assessments and for providing intervention through environmental manipulation.

Course content

Principles, techniques, legislative and relevant governance requirements for the application of universal access, assistive technology and environmental modifications to facilitate occupational performance. Principles and techniques to assess environmental dimensions of a person’s home environment and recommend equipment and modification to facilitate occupational performance. Understanding occupational impact of spinal cord injury, amputation, developmental delay, sensory processing deficits, mobility issues, multiple severe disabilities and the clinical reasoning process underpinning assessment and intervention within the Occupational Performance Model.
