To introduce students to the mathematical concepts in statistical inference and to teach students how to apply these concepts in various situations.
This course covers different approaches to point estimation, criteria for evaluating point estimators, large sample properties of point estimators, sufficiency and completeness, tests of hypotheses and different approaches to interval estimation.
