To provide students with a knowledge of the theory of linear models and their use in analysing data and to introduce them to the basic principles in designing experiments.
Design of experiments using standard designs, including factorial, randomised blocks, Latin squares, confounded and fractional replication designs, and taking into account power; Analysis of the results using analysis of variance to select models, multiple comparisons and response surfaces.
