UniSA College
The aim of this course is to provide additional targeted academic support to small groups of students undertaking their second year of Diploma studies, within the UniSA College, to allow them to successfully transition to full tertiary study. Classes will discuss concepts around specific disciplines studied at UniSA as well as provide targeted support in developing appropriate skills required for different assessment methods.
The course will bring dedicated academic staff together with specific cohorts of students undertaking their second year of a Diploma within UniSA College. Students will meet with a discipline specialist to discuss the concepts and ideas they encounter in their studies within their specific discipline stream. Assistance will be given in understanding concepts and developing appropriate skills for academic success. Students will meet each week in two hour sessions to discuss topics and explore issues raised in discipline courses. In addition, targeted workshops around assessments will allow students to work with the academic staff members to build strengths in different assessment methods.
