This course is designed to familiarise participants with the concepts and practices associated with Islamic banking, finance, reporting and governance.
The key features of Islamic finance, its religious and ethical underpinnings, and the nature of Islamic law (shari’a); the prohibition of interest (riba); Islamic investment vehicles, profit-and-loss sharing operations, and Islamic financial instruments; Shari’a supervision and governance; the Islamic perspective on stock market investment; Islamic insurance (takaful); structuring of Islamic securities and bonds (sukuk); Islamic accounting and financial reporting; Islamic project finance; and marketing Islamic financial products.
