Course aim

The aim of this course is to develop an understanding in students of health and health care systems from a global, national and local perspective.

Course content

Health definitions and perspectives; Models of health and wellbeing; globalisation of health; determinants of health; health and social justice; health of individuals, communities and populations; World Health Organisation; World Bank; Australian Health Care System; health care system developing nations and other countries; Australian health priorities; Indigenous health; primary health care principles, health promotion and health education across the lifespan.
