To introduce painting materials and techniques as well as to examine the discipline of painting in terms of imagery and representation.
Painting techniques including alla prima, glazing, dry brush, graffito, impasto, wet-on-wet; pigments and supports; composition including figure/ground relationships; spatial, colour and tonal relationships; thematics including narrative and representation, culture and community; occupational health and safety issues.
