To explore advanced painting techniques and materials and and to examine the discipline of painting in terms of imagery and representation.
Students will advance their knowledge and skills in painting techniques including alla prima, glazing, dry brush, graffito, impasto, wet-on-wet, pigments and supports, composition including figure/ground relationships, spatial, colour and tonal relationships. The students will also extend their knowledge on thematic narrative and representation within the culture and community context, and adopt appropriate occupational health and safety procedures.
