Course aim

Introduce the theory and practice of computer simulation of random and deterministic systems.

Course content

Review of probability; random numbers; simulation of discrete and continuous random variables; discrete event simulation; review of statistics; variance reduction techniques; statistical validation techniques; Markov Chain Monte Carlo Methods; simulating solutions to differential equations.
