Course aim

To produce an urban planning, social planning, environmental planning or urban design research dissertation.

Course content

Preparatory work for individual research and critical analysis in consultation with the appointed supervisor to student. Critique of relevant literature. Advanced research approaches, methodology and design. Critical research tools and methods. Ethics. Data collection and analysis. Research conclusions, recommendations and/or proposals for areas of further research.
Note: If a student is undertaking either the ‘social and community planning’ or ‘environmental planning’ major,
then the thesis topic must be of relevance to the major and approved by the Program Director.
