Course aim

The aim of this course is to develop entry-level ability for conducting environmental assessments and for providing intervention through environmental manipulation.

Course content

Principles, techniques, legislative and relevant governance requirements for the application of universal access, assistive technology and environmental modifications to facilitate occupational performance. Principles and techniques to assess social, cultural, institutional, and physical environmental dimensions of a person’s environment and recommend assistive technologies and modifications to facilitate occupational performance. Occupational impact of a range of conditions including spinal cord injury, amputation, developmental delay, sensory processing deficits, multiple severe disabilities and the clinical reasoning process underpinning assessment and intervention within the Occupational Performance Model.
