To develop students’ understanding of the professional practice of design through involvement in a range of activities within a structured placement.
Observation and analysis of design work practices and methodologies in a design studio practice in commercial context (locally, nationally, internationally); workplace organisation and procedures, project management and record keeping. Professional communication processes and techniques, client liaison and interfacing with allied professions. Involvement in work practices that demonstrate independent and collaborative processes; project management and problem solving via work on a design problem.
