The implications of mass customization, microfactories and the economics low volume manufacturing will be investigated. This will include knowledge of the economic, ecological, and health issues related to manufacturing technologies. The students will develop their design skills to produce simple products that demonstrate an integration of  materials and processes constraints as part of design development process including economic and ecological criteria.
