Course aim

Human-Centred Design: Research and Analysis develops a basic knowledge of qualitative research and analysis approaches during each stage of the artifact (products, systems and services) development process.

Course content

Students completing Human-Centred Design: Research and Analysis will demonstrate basic understanding in the rationales, strategies, and methods of qualitative user research. This includes the systematic use of ethnography and participant-observation to develop design solutions based on a deep understanding of the contexts (activities, environment, information, objects, users) where users live and work. Solutions will have an increased potential for a deep resonance with users as they are based on direct empirical observation and research.
