Students will critically evaluate and apply epidemiological concepts, principles and study designs relevant to the advanced clinical practice or Nurse Practitioner context and client populations.
Determinants of health / Risks factors; priority population & age groups, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, national health priorities; principles and practices of epidemiology and social epidemiology: public health and primary health care; population datasets and health data sources, incidence and prevalence; burden of disease; health outcomes; reading survey data; Common epidemiological research designs- Descriptive, cross sectional, analytical, cohort studies; relative risks/odds ratio, confidence intervals, p values , descriptive statistics.
