Course aim

To develop an awareness of the range and scope of issues pertaining to management and professional practice
in the field of information management and services.

Course content

Management theories and skills for information agencies including: organisation and management theories;
marketing, strategic planning and evaluation of services, including information services; designing policies and programs; human resource management; job design; team management; leadership; change management; conflict resolution; financial management; management of buildings and equipment; customer service with user experience and user-centred design; IT management; and future trends in libraries, archives, and records management.
