Course aim

To develop knowledge, research and practical application of the concepts, techniques and issues surrounding the implementation and management of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS) to satisfy user and stakeholder requirements, and that reflect the outputs of business analysis making best use of the available and foreseeable implementation technologies.

Course content

This course focuses on topics such as the nature and purposes of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS), the roles of the business case, senior management, vendors and IT in the organisation’s implementation, management and use of an EDRMS; stages of EDRMS implementation, including major issues influencing implementation (such as quality assurance, acceptance criteria, the human side of the uptake of EDRMS, training, change management and the subsequent evaluation); international and Australian standards associated with the management of an EDRMS; emerging issues, such as technology upgrades, migration of information and support
