Develop clinical knowledge of commonly encountered health issues and their podiatry management in the Australian context and to introduce practice guidelines and regulatory frameworks relevant to podiatry clinical practice.
Chronic conditions including diabetes, arthritis; cardiovascular conditions, infectious conditions, respiratory conditions, common dermatological conditions, neurological conditions and mental health. Chronic disease self-management. Common Ageing. Academic and ethical integrity. Introduction to the Ottawa Charter, World Health Organisation categories of impairment activity and participation (ICF framework) and social and cultural determinants of health. Biopsychosocial practice, critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
