Provide students with a beginning understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Health Professionals within the Australian Health system.
Introduction to the Australian health system including regulation and standards; self awareness; principles of WHS; international perspectives in health care; Ottowa charter, World Health Organisation (WHO) categories of impairment, activity and participation, related to social complexities of health and the consumers position and perspective in health care; the roles and responsibilities of professions in health care; professionalism; ethical integrity; academic and professional writing, working and communicating within teams, critical thinking and decision making in the health setting; cultural perspectives including Aboriginal Australians.
