Course aim

To equip students with a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of psychology as it relates to the theory and practice of law.

  2. Community trends regarding mental health and illness
  3. Mental illness and criminal justice:
    1. Police powers
    2. Trial considerations
    3. Expert evidence
    4. Specialist decision making
    5. Criminal defences
    6. Sentencing considerations
