Course aim

To develop the student in the practice of clinical pharmacy and therapeutics integrating skills and knowledge to enable the pharmacist to make rational decisions regarding a patient’s drug management.

Course content

Pathophysiology and treatment of various disease state modules. Specific modules taught in Advanced Pharmacotherapeutics 1 are: cardiology, infectious diseases and coagulation disorders. The course will also involve the application of evidence based medicine to practice identifying benefits and limitations to the population as a whole and the individual patient.
