To give students an overview of the law which regulates leisure and sporting activities in Australia.
Sport and the law (the legal framework), the legal status of participants in contract including trade practices; the legal liability of participants in tort (negligence) and in criminal law; self regulation of recreational bodies, the jurisdiction of the courts and sporting tribunals, due process, the removal of risk (insurance), anti-discrimination; taxation issues and drugs in sport.
