This course aims to provide students with the management techniques necessary for the effective management of all aspects of sport and recreation facilities, whether built facilities or open space. It provides an overview of the venue management sector and its stakeholders.
Management issues for facilities e.g. asset management, design criteria/requirements for community access, logistics, usage and activity patterns, planning/scheduling, risk management, operations management, financial considerations, HR management and service delivery; differences between public and private sport and recreation facilities, open space usage and management.
