To begin to understand the nature of an educators’ professional identity, the ethical and legal issues involved, socially just reform and educators relationship to their professional community, and the continuing role of professional development.
The nature of educators’ work, and education as a social institution; policy and its implications for educators’ work; teaching as a form of emotional labour; teaching in diverse social and cultural contexts; gender issues related to educators’ work; legal issues and responsibilities; ethical challenges and educators’ work.
