To introduce students to the fundamentals of least squares adjustment theory and the application of these techniques to the analysis of surveying observations.
Revision of statistics related to spatial measurement. Error propagation and analysis. Least squares theory; modelling of observations; general and parametric methods. Solution of linear equations and inverses. Analysis of error ellipses and related statistical quantities. Least squares adjustments and applications in surveying and geodesy. Control network optimisation.
