Course aim

To explore cadastral systems and the responsibilities of the cadastral surveyor in land administration.

Course content

Cadastral and land boundary systems. Real property and interests in land. Australian legal system and legislation related to cadastral surveying and land administration. Historical description of land and accessing of land information details. Introduction to valuation. Statutory framework for regional and local planning. Residential land division design. Social housing. Strata and community titles. Urban and rural land division case studies. Business practice for surveyors. Professionalism, ethics and regulation of cadastral surveying practice.
