Course aim

To develop students’ competence in the application of sustainable design principles to interdisciplinary projects addressing cultural and social sustainability.

Course content

Application of sustainable design principles. Product stewardship, lifecycle analysis, closed loop processes, transportation, sustainable consumption, whole systems design, dematerialisaton, life cycle analysis and closed loop processes. Energy and resource bases: energy capture/conservation, building integrated systems, biosystems, design for longevity and application of modelling and metrics.
