To provide students with the basic concepts and theories of communication, and to introduce them to a range of research perspectives.
Communication concepts and theories: organisational communication, presentation and public speaking, groups and teams in organisations, principles of business writing, business correspondence, employment communication, emerging communication trends.
Research methods: experimental, quasi-experimental and observational approaches; quantitative and qualitative methods; introductory statistical procedures.
