To introduce students to the building surveying scientific principles used in the design and operation of residential and mid size commercial developments. To study the Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia requirements for the design and construction of buildings on a domestic and smaller commercial scale.
The Building Code of Australia Volume 2 and associated Australian Standards; the South Australian Housing Code; The performance hierarchy in the design and construction of buildings; Energy requirements for residential buildings; Bushfire mitigation measures for design and construction of residential buildings; Building Pathology design and assessment of residential buildings.
