Course aim

To enable students to understand the practice and processes of information technology consulting, and to be able to engage successfully with clients.

Course content

IT Consultancy practice as an industry, a profession, and a business within the international marketplace. This course identifies costs and benefits of consultancy practice, and key tools in client service delivery.

 

The market for consultancy; understanding the client and client staff; managing client expectations; successful interpersonal behaviour; ethics for individuals and occupations; ethics for IT; understanding the business and the industry.
Negotiation, contract setup, contract management, program management, resolving contractual disputes
Marketing, networking, alliances, and tendering are examined as the means for acquiring consultancy business.
