Course aim

To provide students with the opportunity to conceptualise and plan the development of a restaurant business from an entrepreneurial perspective.

Course content

What is entrepreneurship; identify the process; the importance of creativity in recognising business opportunities; an overview of the business plan; buy, build, franchise or manage options; market research and restaurant feasibility; restaurant concepts, location and design; financing and leasing; the menu; restaurant operations; business management; family business.
