Course aim

This course aims to develop students’ understanding of both the distinctive and the common elements of management and administration in public, private and non-profit sectors and the impact of changing work practices and processes on organisations and people.

Course content

Management and administration functions in public, private, non-profit sectors; administration systems, work processes and practices; the impact of information and communication technology; social, ethical and legal aspects; learning and performance support; customer relations and service delivery; communicating as individuals and groups; workplace design and safety; problem solving scenarios; career and professional development.
