To provide students with an introduction to the rules and principles of administrative law which govern the making and review of government decisions, including decisions made by police officers in the course of their employment.
The State and Federal laws governing institutions and the constitutional framework within administrative law is constructed; judicial review processes and common law and statutory remedies; the requirements and grounds of judicial review of administrative action in State and Federal contexts; standing; the role of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the system of merits review.
