Course aim

Students will be introduced to:

  • Six Sigma techniques for supply chain management
  • Supply Chain Reference Model (SCOR) and its Lean/Six Sigma adaption’s 
  • the use of Design for Six Sigma for supply chain design and performance monitoring

Course content

Topics covered include; Demand management impact on lean six sigma projects; lead-time impact on Lean Six Sigma Projects , Lean Six Sigma applications to Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), identifying Lean Six Sigma Projects using inventory models and lean supply chains and Third-Party Logistics and root cause analysis using Six Sigma Tools. The Lean/ Six Sigma SCOR model is also discussed along with Design for Six Sigma for supply chain design and performance monitoring.
