This is the key element of the Graduate Certificate in Professional Engineering Practice. Its aim is to provide an extended structured program of work experience, with an agreed work plan and clear educational objectives, to prepare students for their future roles as engineering practitioners. Students will be expected to:
Students are expected to secure a full-time engineering work placement in an engineering industry of at least 15 weeks’ duration (or equivalent if working less than full-time), and work under the supervision of an engineering practitioner assigned by the placement provider. The placement, and an associated work plan, must be approved by the University prior to its commencement. Prior to applying for the placement, students will participate in workshop sessions to develop their job application skills.
