Course aim

To provide a theoretical and practical coverage of aspects of leadership essential to the role of a CIO.

Course content

Leadership vs management, ICT Leadership roles in organisations. Contemporary leadership theories, self awareness, leadership characteristics. Leading effective teams in an ICT environment. Strategic leadership; organisational power, influence and politics; organisational ICT strategic planning; aligning ICT policy with organisational policy, enabling ICT governance, managing strategic corporate knowledge; Ethical leadership.
